Again, thankful for technology
March 19, 2008
Today I am again so happy and grateful for technology. I have picked up a copy of Dragon Naturally Speaking 9, and I have spent a little time practicing with it this morning. I think it will help me considerably in my writing and posting here online. I’m really amazed at how well it does. I’m writing this post with it now.
I really am grateful for all the people who do so much to create such great stuff, which in turn helps me to create additional value for other people.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
February 15, 2008
Today I am so happy and grateful for my wife Jenn. We have been married for 11 years, and she has stood by me and helped me to become everything I am today. I am grateful for the family that she is helping me to create and raise. Thank you Jenn.
Grateful for a New Day
February 11, 2008
Today I am so happy and grateful that I have a new day on my hands here. I am not stuck in yesterday or last week. I am not fixed in last month, or last year, or in any part of my life before. Today is a new day, and this day, this very moment is all I have. I cannot do anything about the past, even if I wanted to. I cannot really be or create in the future, because the future is not here yet.
This is all a fancy way of saying that I am grateful to begin again today to finish my book, “Make Some Light!” and I planning to have the story finished this week. It has taken me much longer than I thought and planned and hoped it would take to write, but I am grateful for today, a new day, to begin again.

The Ability to Learn New Things
February 10, 2008
Today I am so happy and grateful for the ability to learn new things.
I have started my first videoblog, IronFinisher.com, about my preparations to race in the REDMAN Iron Distance Triathlon in Oklahoma City on September, 2008.
So today, I learned a ton about how to upload video from my camera to my computer, then to YouTube, and then to my new blog. Its taken a bit of time to figure it all out, but I feel confident that the result will be great.
It’s awesome to not be stuck with only being able to do what I have always done. You and I are capable of constantly growing and developing and flourishing, and we should.
So anyway, today I am grateful to be able to try and accomplish new things through learning. It opens up a whole new world.

Mentors Who Share
February 6, 2008
Today I am so happy and grateful for mentors that share their time, knowledge and experience with me. Some do it live and in person, some do it over the phone, via the internet, or on my Ipod. Each one though goes the extra mile to create value for me by taking the time, trouble, and expense of communicating with me.
Today I’ve been listening to a recording from Mark Victor Hansen’s MEGA Book marketing event held last year, in preparation to me going and attending his event at the end of this month. So many great teachers are helping me understand what I need to to know and do and be in order to create value for others with my book that I am releasing in the next few weeks. I will be able to help more people by selling more books because of the value these mentors are giving me.
None of us are all alone on our own. Their are countless people around us that can help us if we will let them. I’m grateful for everything I am learning from my mentors.
Back in the Saddle Again, part II
February 5, 2008
Today I am so happy and grateful for the opportunity I had to attend a Marital Magic cruise to the eastern Caribbean with Dr. Paul Jenkins and Craig Rollo. My wife and had a truly valuable experience spending time with each other, away from home and the kids and work. We really re-connected in a powerful way while getting to know a bunch of great like-minded people and seeing a part of the world that is new to me.
So anyway, I see that I have not posted in a long time, and so I really am back in the saddle again.

Back in the Saddle Again
January 7, 2008
I am so happy and grateful now that I am getting back into the flow of my regular work routine. I truly enjoyed the holidays–the time with my children and family, the opportunity to be away from the normal routine, to refresh and focus on some other things. But today is my first real day back truly in the swing of things, and it is good to get back to work in an organized way. I am grateful for my great friends and colleagues who have been patient with my holiday schedule. Thank you!

Singing Children Who Love Their Parents
January 7, 2008
Today I am grateful for young kids who love to sing. I help teach a class for VERY young children in my congregation of the church I attend. We had our first class of the year today, and it was a blast to sing, play and teach with the young kids. They definitely help re-inspire me to take a fresh look at life and find joy in simple play.
I was extra blessed to be able to take my almost 7 year old son with me to a choir rehearsal for a performance we will give together next week. It is so sweet to have him enjoying being in my presence and loving to do what Dad loves to do. So today I am grateful for singing children who love their parents.
A New Day, and a New Year
January 2, 2008
Today I am grateful for the opportunity I have to wake up each morning to a brand new day, and now we have entered a brand new year. It is easy for me to fell like each day is somehow constrained by the effects of days past, but I am coming to understand the extent to which that idea is only and idea in my head!
Look around. Today is not yesterday. This moment is not the last moment. We’ve got a brand new moment, a brand new day, and a brand new year on our hands here. I’m grateful for the opportunity I have to make the most of this new moment, and this new day. As I do so, this new year will take care of itself.
Language to Communicate Truth and Joy
December 28, 2007
I have heard it said that we have all drunk from wells that we did not dig.
I think it was Sir Isaac Newton who said he was able to see so far because he stood on the shoulders of giants.
Today I am grateful that so many wise people have a gift of language that helps them to communicate truth and joy to others. People with the gift to write or the gift to speak have taught me so much, I have benefited from their insights and labors for so long, I feel indebted develop and grow so that I can help provide this joy to others as well.
Today I am grateful for all who have been wise enough to learn the truth, brave enough to share it, and gifted enough to say it well enough for others like me to understand it.
